N14,000 daily allocation to prisoners pocketed by officials

A source in the NPS said the interior Ministry allocates N450 per prisoner per day but N400 of it is stolen by by warders, leaving only N50 for each inmate. The N14,000 official allocation may well be true on paper while all but N50 of it is pocketed by officials of the ministry.
